First called HMS Columbine and used as a destroyer base in the first World War, it was then used as a holiday camp for poor families in the 30's.
Changed its name to HMS Lochinvar and turned into the main Minesweeper training base in the second World War, it was then used as a base for the Naval fisheries protection boats until 1975 whe it was closed and handed over to the Scottish Office and subsequently the Scottish Government. Bangour Village Hospital portfolioBangour Village Hospital was opened in 1906 by the Edinburgh Lunacy Board as a lunatic asylum. it served as a wartime hospital in both world wars, and eventually closed its doors for the last time in 2004.
Demolition is not an option as these are listed buildings, however i have dedicated this portfolio to the hospital as it may well be developed as flats and housing. This is to remember it as it is now.
